Water Festival: Boat Racing ?

There were so many interesting things during the Water Festival days in Phnom Penh. However, I would like to focus mainly on the Boat Racing right now in this podcast. Boat Racing is the most interesting one during the Water Festival. There were three days of Water Festival and Boat Racing lasted three days as well. Let's enjoy! However, there were some bad news as well during the Water Festival days. There were 5 singaporean died because of their boat capsized. It was our sorrow to hear this bad news...

Updated Night Market News: Now Night Market opens every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday but not at the same place. It changes to new place. The new place is located in Wat Phnom area near Old Market (Known as Psa Chas = Old Market). There are many more goods and products than before are displayed at the Night Market. One more thing is that my sister(I like her, she is not my sister by blood) who is the seller at stall number V11 and V12 at the old location of Night Market changed to new stall number S16 and S17 at the new location. You will find good and beautiful stuff at her stalls (Stall numbers S16 & S17)! Good luck sister! I will help you sell those beautiful products if I have time. :) (Last Post) -------------------------- Night Market in Phnom Penh What is Night Market ? It's a new exhibition of Cambodian products. There are a lot of Cambodian products displaying for sell at the Night Market. Where is it located? The Night Market is located at the riverside opposite to the Uknaloum Pagoda. When does it open? It opens from 5pm to 12am started on the 9th of November, 2007. It opens everyday until 21st November, 2007. After the Water Festival days, it will open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This Night Market is the new way that can make Cambodian products be known. To get to know more about the Night Market you can listen to the interview with a seller there. The interview is in Khmer language. She was telling me about the Night Market. She sells Cambodian handmade products such as scarf, wallets, and so on. You can meet her at stall number V11 and V12. There is also a performance of Khmer traditional dancing out there at the Night Market by the orphans from the Association of Orphan Arts. I really appreciate their talents in dancing. I would say great performance! I think if you have the chance to see the dance you will also like it as I do. Khmer dancing is very unique, beautiful and fantastic. It shows our great culture including smile, gentleness, and firmness. Have a visit to the Night Market in Phnom Penh opposite of the Uknaloum Pagoda, you will see it. Seeing is believing, right?

Here is another seller words at the Night Market in Phnom Penh, at the same stall, V11 and V12. She is telling you about the Night Market. Especially, what she has for sell out there, cool and beautiful stuff! Do not believe me right now, just go there and you will see by yourself. I do like Cambodian handmade products, especially, those made by silk. There are a lot of more products range from foods to jewelries. What special about the products is that they are made by community members, we can say "One Village one Product". And what I really appreciate is that most of the products are made by hands, the handmade products.

Khmer says good and bad

Hi, here you will learn how to say "Good" and "bad" in Khmer language. Good = La or Bad = Men la or (there are several more synonyms) Very = Nas Very good= La or nas (note: Khmer adverbs stand after verbs or adjectives it opposites to English) Very bad= Men la or te. (When we form nagative by adding "Men= NOT" we can not use adverb "Nas=VERY" we use "Nas" only without "Men". However, we can use "Men" with "Te=NO" as you can see Men(Not) La or(Good) te(No). Just make it simple, speak follow what you hear! Enjoy it!

I am fine. = knhom soksabay chea te. teor = use to form question by putting this word infront of the sentence. neak = you soksabay = being happy chea = good state of health te = use to form question at the end of sentence in this case, however, it's meaning is NO = te. knhom = I That's it for today. Hi all the students of English. I am also a student like you all. However, I have noticed that we Cambodian students have difficulty with pronouncing the correct words with the "Th or Sh" sound. In this episode I try to explain you with the using of the Th and Sh sounds, so I hope you will learn something new or you will get some more ideas.
